About Hi@ Carbon Neutral Designs

The architectural renderings shown below, display our Homes Inter@ctive house and high rise apartment designs. Both building types incorporate the following features in order to achieve 'Carbon Neutral' status :

1. The homes have a modular layout, which lend themselves for pre-fabrication, thereby reducing construction wastage.

2. Floor plan layouts incorporate home office space and co-worker facilities,  to assist in reducing daily commuting to work, thereby contributing towards fossil fuel and car emission reductions.

3. In-built solar and windpower technology generating in-home power, thereby contributing towards reductions in usage of existing power grids.

4.  Each house / apartment incorporates a perimeter breezeway, housing internal gardens, and a splash pool, to assist in reducing heat gains and promote an oxygenated environment.

5. Each home/apartment is designed with intelligent cabinetry, accessing the 'HomesInteractive.com' management system (a.k.a. WebSoft Application), allowing occupants to control / calibrate their internat environment, thereby contributing towards the carbon neutral blueprint.

Following is a detailed description about some of the Hi@ building design features via architectural drawings and information outlines. We trust you will enjoy our work and want to build Hi@ houses or apartment buildings for your next project(s)

1. About Hi@ New York Style Mini-Loft Homes and High Rise Apartments

A discussion about ‘Little Houses’ that are mobile, low cost and functional … a new species of pre-fabricated structures

New York Style Mini-Loft Homes provide clean lines and glowing surfaces and embody the new ‘prefab’ architectural movement. The design blends minimalist styling, structural steel frame and a modernist’s attention to detail to create a usable space that is truly unique. The modular building elements are easy to transport, quick to assemble and aesthetically pleasing. New York Style Mini-Lofts create a living environment that is the ideal of form and function, and is suited for first home buyers, or as a second holiday house – and all this at a fraction of standard-built homes.

About Modular Home Construction

Modular homes are houses that are divided into multiple modules or sections which are manufactured in a remote facility and then delivered to their intended site of use. A crane then assembles the modules into a single residential building.

Such dwellings are often priced lower than their site-built counterparts and are typically more cost- effective to builders and consumers. These new homes can be constructed in less time than it takes to build a home "on-site", for the following reasons:

-          Indoor construction. Assembly is independent of weather which increases work efficiency and avoids damaged building material.

-          Favorable pricing from suppliers. Large-scale manufacturers can effectively bargain with suppliers for discounts on materials.

-          Low waste. With the same plans being constantly built, the manufacturer has records of exactly what quantity of materials are needed for a given job. While waste from a site-built dwelling may typically fill several large dumpsters, waste from a modular dwelling generates much less waste.

Off-frame modular dwellings differ from mobile homes largely in their absence of a frame, meaning that they are typically transported to their site by means of flat-bed trucks; however, modular dwellings are built using a steel frame (on-frame modular), and are set in place using a crane.

Modular homes built with structural steel are designed to be stronger than site-built homes for example by replacing nails with bolts. This maintains a structural integrity that is not found with stick-built homes.

Once the steel frame is fabricated, they are transported to the building site where a crane is brought in to assemble the frame and lay the roof cladding. The placement of the frame, roofing and exterior cladding generally takes about a day, providing a weatherproof interior for the finishing trades to follow.

About the Homes Interactive (Hi@) Technology

An Overview
The 'HomesInteractive Buildings' incorporate Content Management Software Systems that proposes to provide enabling features all around the home. The main area of our focus is in the storage cabinets around the home.

The innovations describe systems that encompass touchscreen monitors with sensor technology built into the cabinets, capable of relaying information to the touchscreen monitors via infra-red, radio frequency or spectral mode, consequently converting a traditional cabinet such as kitchen pantries, wardrobe, family room TV display and garage cabinets into ones with 'intelligence' capabilities. We have named such cabinets 'Homes Interactive Smart Cabinets & Media Centres'.

Imagine
Imagine a home environment in which built-in cabinets are electronically networked , with the capability of being personalized, transforming the traditional cabinet into media centres, capable of generating shopping lists, sensing products placed on the cabinet's shelving and displaying digital versions of such products on touchscreen displays, with the capability of warning the household of depleting supplies, so that the household can re-stock by placing orders with online stores that are affiliated with Homes Interactive. The technology is scalable for the mobile internet, where households generate shopping lists for uploading to their cell phones for retrieval in-store anywhere, anytime.

The HomesInteractive Interiors are designed as one large loft-style space, comprising a series of platforms and zones, rather than rooms. Each platform or zone is fitted with a custom media center, comprising a pair of tall cabinets spaced apart by a work counter fitted with a toushscreen enabled PC/TV monitor.

These specialised touchscreen workstations are positioned strategically throughout the interactive home, providing highly-targeted web-services such as integrated food shopping and recipes in the kitchen, cosmetics and clothing services in the dressing room/bedroom, web 2.0 gaming services in the family room and auto supplies/car monitoring services in the garage.

These workstations are supported by messaging and networking server software incorporated within the cabinetry. Typically the workstation/media centre hardware and software will be leased by the occupant/household, to allow for remote updating and the replacement of new models of touchscreens and other hardware-related items.

The following illustrations are being provided as a visual to the above description. The 'Media Centre inside a Cabinet Concept' is designed for integration with the carbon neutral power generating systems.

The team at HomesInteractive has designed various modern multi-level houses and high rise building concepts, the core of which contains the technology for interactive eco designs and web services. It goes considerably beyond basic internet connectivity and incorporates touch screen technology all around the home, linking the owner to various online ordering and information sources, that can be personalized and secured. The homes are versatile and unique in their design but the addition of the technology core is what would differentiate them in the minds of homebuyers and developers. Models and designs have been perfected and the team is now looking to take this to the next level.
